Purabi Baruah

Founder & CEO

As the Founder of NextGen Junior B School, my mission is to inspire and empower the next generation to lead with purpose and confidence. Leadership is not simply a skill; it’s a mindset—
a commitment to thinking differently, challenging the status quo, and creating positive change.Academically, I hold a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Tourism Management (PGDTM) from Dibrugarh University.
To grow as an entrepreneur, I completed the Executive Program in Entrepreneurship Development at IIM Shillong and earned certifications from the Women Start-up Program (WSP) at IIM Bangalore and IIM Kashipur. These experiences have helped me refine my skills and pursue my mission of empowering young learners.

Achievements and Impact

Through the Nextgen Smart Education Foundation, Purabi Baruah started শৈৈৱ – The NextGen Smart School to make affordable, high-quality education accessible in rural and semiurban areas.
What started as a small initiative has now grown into 35+ branches across Assam, with plans to expand to 50 branches by 2025 and 100 branches by 2027. Though the school’s initial focus was on rural areas, increasing demand has led to four branches in Guwahati and presence in other major towns across the state.

Purabi Baruah’s dedication has also created job opportunities for over 200 women as franchisees, teachers, and support staff, and the number continues to grow. She has faced many challenges—from convincing skeptical parents to managing operations on a shoestring budget—but her commitment to making education accessible has never wavered. Thanks to her efforts, thousands of children now have access to education, many for the first time.

Youth unemployment is a burning issue in India, with millions of young people struggling to find meaningful employment opportunities. Despite being home to the world’s largest youth population, India faces a significant challenge in providing its
young citizens with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities needed to succeed in the modern workforce.

NextGen Junior Business School is dedicated to addressing youth unemployment through a comprehensive approach that fosters skill development, entrepreneurial mindset, industry exposure, mental well-being, digital literacy, community engagement, and continuous learning.
